A few weeks ago, Bob Foxx, one of our artists released his newest album entitled, Bob Foxx - SubMinimal Messages Vol IV. I have been tracking the progress of his album on BitTorrent sites and wanted to share the results.

This Google map displays a sampling of where in the world this album has been downloaded through BitTorrent. How we generate this data is something that I hope to write about over the next few weeks. If you are attending SXSWi I will be speaking about it on my panel “How Piracy Will Save The Music Industry” on Tuesday at 2:00.

What Is Robber Baron Blog

Recently disruptive technology has made its way into the lexicon with increasing frequency. Its buzz word status derives from the increasing recognition that online innovations will continue to turn long established industries on their head. Robber Baron Blog will attempt to theorize how emerging technology will do just that.

One of the things I will be highlighting in my posts are predictions of what the future holds for technology. Specifically how new innovations will dramatically change the way we think about the world.

I make these predictions based on my knowledge of technology and gut instinct. These aren’t proclamations, merely issues raised for debate.

While I will often look at the industry whose disruption is the bread and butter of Robber Baron Music, the scope of this blog will stretch far beyond music. Thanks for reading.
